What AVAILABLE, ON HOLD, RESERVED, and UNDER OBSERVATION means:

1. AVAILABLE - Kitten is available to reserve.  A non-refundable deposit is required to qualify the kitten as "reserved".

2. ON HOLD - Breeder is communicating with interested buyer.  Buyer has 24 hours to place a deposit, during this time the kitten is placed "ON HOLD".

3. RESERVED- A deposit has been placed and the kitten is no longer available for inquiry.

4. UNDER EVALUATION - The kitten is being observed and may be kept by breeder.  It may become available at a later time.

Looking for an outdoor cat?

It is highly recommended that these cats remain as indoor cats.  These cats are not used to and may not be able to survive roaming the streets (especially in high traffic areas).  If you want to take your cat outside, supervision along with the use of a harness and leash is necessary.

How do I inquire about a kitten or adult cat?

Please complete our application to be placed on our waitlist. When kittens are available for reservation, people will be contacted in the order they are placed on our list. After we have exhausted our waitlist, available kittens will be posted to the "kittens" page.

We love our cats and kittens and want to ensure that they are going to families or individuals who can both provide the best conditions and will care for them to the end of their life.  We want to know about your home life and the environment our kittens will be entering.

​​How much does a kitten cost?

Pet kittens are $2500.

We do not charge for "show quality" as we encourage everyone of our pet parents to join us at shows, however, should you show your kitten we do not guarantee positive outcomes of any show ring.

There is a $100 discount if purchasing two kittens at one time. 

We do not sell intact kittens within Hawaii... PERIOD.

Prices are subject to change at breeder's discretion.

Can I visit?

No, at this time we do not allow visits unless the kittens that are available are older than 12 weeks old. This is for the health and safety of our cats and kittens. Please be mindful that this our home, not a petting zoo or a formal place of business. We reserve the right to not allow visitors into our home. We will, however, be happy to provide pictures, videos, and facetime calls to meet your needs. We are also happy to meet you in person at a public location to chat further.

How do I reserve a kitten?

When kittens are deemed "available" and ready to reserve, those on the waitlist will be contacted first in the order they are received.  If you pass on the kittens available, you will remain on the list where you are, and will move up as others on the waitlist are removed if they have purchased a kitten.  Once we cycle through the waitlist, kittens available to the public will be posted to the "kittens" tab.

When you are contacted, you will be able to choose from the available kittens.  If you express interest in a kitten(s), you will have 24 hours to place the $500 non-refundable deposit to secure your specific kitten(s).  If you fail to put a deposit within the allotted 24 hours, we will move on, and you will be removed from the waitlist. If you contact us past the 24 hours expressing interest in remaining on the list you will then be placed at the bottom of the list.

Is a deposit required when reserving a kitten?

Yes. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a kitten.  Kittens will be open for reservation at around 4 weeks old and available kittens will be posted under the "Kittens" tab.  The deposit is NOT transferable to another kitten or cat unless there is an issue expressed by the breeder.  A deposit will be returned only if/when the breeder decides not to sell the kitten.  We reserve the right to rescind any reservation at our discretion.

What forms of payment do we accept?

We accept several various forms of payment: cash, Venmo friends and family option, PayPal friends and family option, and Square (+3% fee).

Is there a contract I need to sign?

Yes.  Each kitten purchase will require the completion of a contract.  The contract lays out the expectations of the buyer and the breeder.  Once the deposit is made, a copy of the contract will be sent to the buyer to review.  The breeder will fill out the necessary information and both parties will sign it at the time of pick up of the kitten.  The contract acts as a legally binding document between the two parties.

What is the payment plan/when is the balance due?

The non-refundable deposit is due at the time of reservation of a specific kitten(s).  The balance is due by the time of pickup. Payments can be made in increments over the time the kitten reaches 3 months old (acceptable minimum age to leave our home) and up to the scheduled pickup date. Should you need more time to pay for the kitten, arrangements can be made to hold on to the kitten for an extra agreed upon time period not to exceed 4 weeks. Should payment not be completed by the end of the agreed upon time period, the buyer forfeits the kitten; any payments, less the non-refundable deposit, will be returned.

When can I see my kitten?

By appointment only, and only after the kittens receive their first vaccination at 8 weeks old. You will only see your specific kitten. Please be mindful that this our home, not a formal place of business. We reserve the right to not allow visitors into our home.

At what age should my kitten be spayed/neutered?

Because the Devon Rex breed is a small breed, we want our kittens to be at least 14 weeks old to be fixed. Each kitten will be assessed by the veterinarian to see if they are appropriately eligible to be fixed. Our kittens leave our home spay/neutered... this is NOT negotiable.

At what age do kittens go to their new homes?

We want our kittens to be at least 14 weeks old to be fixed and will typically leave between 15-16 weeks of age.  We want to ensure that each kitten is ready to be re-homed and has the optimal socialization and health we can offer them.  Some kittens may go home sooner than others and each kitten will be assessed individually, sometimes with the consultation of our veterinarian. We reserve the right to hold on to a kitten for a longer period of time should they not be ready to be transitioned into a new home for any reason.

What happens when I do not pick-up the kitten on the scheduled date?

Prior arrangements will be made with each new owner to schedule pick up dates.  We can deliver island wide for an extra fee (cost dependent on your location).  If you do not pick up your kitten on the scheduled date by the end of day (11:59pm), you will forfeit your rights to the kitten.  Unless a suitable reason is given, the kitten will be deemed available and offered to other interested parties.

What vaccinations will the kittens have, and what is required after adoption?

Our kittens receive 2 rounds of vaccinations in house at 8 and 12 weeks of age, these include Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia (distemper). They will also receive deworming medications at 4, 8 and 12 weeks old.  After adoption, a third vaccination is required at the age of 16 weeks.  This can be done through us for a $10 charge or through your licensed veterinarian.

Our health AGREEMENT (we will NEVER guarantee anything, except their cuteness)

Our kittens leave our home healthy.  They are checked by a veterinarian prior to leaving and will come with our in-home health/vaccination records. Once the kittens leave our home, you are responsible for their well being.

Do you ship kittens?

We would prefer to meet our kitten's forever families face to face, however, we understand that some families won't be able to travel to us, even from the outer islands of Hawaii.  Travel arrangements can be made, but we would still love to see what kind of environment our kitten is going to (pictures are appreciated).  The cost of travel is the buyer's responsibility.  International travel may require the use of a transportation company/ transporter.  Please know your country's import laws.

At this time, inter-island shipping is $200, and we utilize Hawaiian Cargo.

Shipping to the US Mainland begins at $500+ (cost adjusts to your location).

What type of food do the kittens eat? (Refer to the "Resources" tab)

Our kittens are introduced to Royal Canin (RC) baby cat wet food at around 4-5 weeks of age.  Thereafter they will get 24/7 access to dry kitten food, as well as wet canned food 2x/day. By the time they leave, they may have transitioned to a different brand of wet food, so please inquire about this.

What type of food do the adult cats eat?

At this time our big kids receive the Wholehearted brand dry food and Fancy Feast wet food. Many people will have their opinions, but choose what works for your pet.

What type of cat litter do we use? (Refer to the "Resources" tab)

In our home we made DIY large litter boxes (mock Tidy Cats Breeze system) for our big kitties.  We use pine pellets that are low cost at the local feed stores.  It helps control odor and is safe for kittens, to keep them from eating the litter (clumping litter is not safe for young kittens as they can consume it and cause blockages in their tummies).

Will the kitten be potty/ litter box trained?

yes.  The kittens are introduced to the litter box at 3 weeks old.  They may not use it independently at that time, but get used to it being in their space.  At around 4-5 weeks they should be getting the hang of using it and should be fully potty trained by the time they are ready to leave.  When bringing your kitten home, it is recommended to block off an area for them so they learn where their litter box is located.  Do this for about a week.  After a week, slowly increase the amount of space they have access to.  Once the kitten has learned where the litter box is located, they no longer need to be restricted.  It is also recommended to have 2 litter boxes for one cat, and an additional box for each additional cat.

What comes with my kitten's purchase?

Your kitten will come with its vaccination and de-worming records (reflected on our in-home health records), spay/neutered, vet checked, microchipped, and one flea treatment.  It will also come with its CFA registration (see the question below).

We try to make "kitten packs" (toy or treats, a small bag of food they are currently eating for easy transition to their new home and to a new food brand if applicable, and a small bag of litter to assist in transition if using other types of litter other than pine pellets) for their departure, however, life happens... should we forget, feel free to ask at the time of kitten pick-up.

Who is the CFA? What do they do?

We are registered with the Cat Fancier's Association (CFA). This association oversees the pedigrees and lineages of the cats registered under them. They work with breeders to created and uphold breed standards that help to produce the best cats possible within each breed. This is accomplished through holding cat shows in which licensed judges assess and award cats based on their breed standards. The CFA values it's advocacy, research, and support of the breeders registered under them.

What is a CFA registration? What is the purpose of it?

The CFA registration from your breeder identifies your cat as a pedigreed cat. With this, you can purchase it's pedigree ("family tree") should you choose. The CFA registration allows you enter your cat into any CFA cat show in the country.

When do I receive the CFA registration papers?

The registration will be submitted and paid for by the breeder after the kitten is picked up and payment is received in full.  The registration will be sent via email to you which you can print out or a hard copy can be requested via The Cat Fanciers Association for a fee.  If the registration certificate is not received by 6 weeks after the pick up of your kitten, contact us immediately and we will resolve the issue.

Do we recommend pet insurance?

YES! It is extremely important and highly recommended to purchase ongoing pet insurance for your kitten. With your CFA registration, you will receive ONE MONTH of free pet insurance with Felix Pet Insurance. For further coverage, we recommend shopping around with various plans to see what benefits best suit you. Health issues and accidents can happen at any time and can be costly. Insurance can help protect the investment you make when purchasing a pet. Ask us who we currently use.
